on June 27, 1950, in the Kalinin
region. Liberal legislator and parliament member
since 1990, helped to organize the security of the Russian White House
during the coup of 1991. He has been one of the strong denouncers against
the war in Chechnya. He was murdered on April 17th in front of his home in
Moscow.
