Born at Canosa, in Apulia, in 1912. Father is a member of the Socialist
Party in Apulia. In 1920 migrates with family to Boston where
he becomes a member of the "American Communist Youth". After
organizing a worker's strike he gets arrested and
expelled form the country. Migrates to the USSR in 1933 where he becomes a
member of the Soviet Communist Party. In the same year he gets sent to jail
under the accuse of spying for the USA. After 8 years spent in a
concentration camp, he gets released. Rehabilitated. Dies in 2002. |
