subject biography:
The father, Ernani, is enlisted in Italy
at the Italian Communist Party ("Pcd'I") and participates at factory
council meetings and the "Worker's
Struggle" at Turin. He gets invited by
Gramsci to move with the whole family to
the USSR
since he is searched by the police after a riot. Erik is still a
child and while attending his first school years,
his father gets arrested as an
enemy of the people. They lose their house and Erik is able to find a job at a factory
only because he doesn't declare his father's
arrest. Only in the 1970's he is able to know the reasons behind the
father's execution, rehabilitated in those years. In 1971 he
returns for a
brief period to Italy. Erik currently lives at Vladimir. |
